RAPID PROTOTYPING AND MANUFACTURING:
Making the New Technologies Payoff for You
The 5th Annual Eugene C. Gwaltney Manufacturing Symposium

October 7-8, 1998

The Symposium and Exhibition Agenda: The two-day program has 15 speakers addressing a range of issues from current applications to future capabilities. Exhibits from more than 20 vendors will be open intermittently throughout both days and during a two and one-half hour reception on the first evening. The reception will be a first-class affair with heavy hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks.

The attached tentative agenda gives more details, including presentation topics and exhibit times.

The Symposium and Exhibition Location: Speakers will deliver their presentations in Georgia Tech's Manufacturing Research Center Auditorium. The room can accommodate 110 participants in comfort. The acoustics are excellent, so questions and answers can be heard by all. Just outside the auditorium is a large atrium area that will accommodate the exhibition, breaks and reception.

Why is Georgia Tech interested in RP&M? Because industry is. We have launched an industry-focused Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Institute that promotes education in the development of RP&M technologies. We have a functioning RP&M laboratory and are working on projects defined and guided by our thirteen industry companies.

Who is Eugene C. Gwaltney? Mr. Gwaltney is the former chairman of Russell Corporation. A chair in his name was endowed by alumni and friends employed at Russell. Each year we hold a symposium in his name focusing on an area of key interest to manufacturers.

Travel and Accommodations: We are happy to help you find suitable arrangements. We have reserved a block of room at The Georgian Terrace (404-897-1991) at 659 Peachtree Street—across from the Fox Theater—which will provide special rates and is very near the "Midtown" MARTA train station. In addition, we will provide transportation to and from Tech; consequently, a car is not absolutely necessary. Contact Jo Funk for other hotel possibilities with Georgia Tech rates.

The special fare code with Delta Airlines is 112000A. The phone number for this fare is 1-800-241-6760.

Our fax number is 404-894-4133.
