Brief Project Description:
- The objective of this project is to characterize SFF processes and encode their
characteristics for use in the SLA process design.
- Primary research issues include:
- Quantification of systematic errors of SLA systems
- Development of methods by which SLA systems can be validated and calibrated
- Direct feedback to SLA controller from metrology systems to "invert"
anticipated deviations from target geometry.
- Our research approach is as followed:
- First to measure tool inserts produced by RP methods using currently available metrology
and inspection systems.
- The systematic deviations from nominal geometry will be modeled by using a variety of
geometrical methods.
- This work is closely related to the Rapid Inspection and Computer-Aided Verification
projects.
