Brief Project Description:
- Research over the past year has been focused upon the analysis of the three dimensional
data obtained from the addition of the laser scanner and our existing coordinate
measurement machine.
- There are many commercially available packages that converts the raw data obtained into
useful information, however, there are specific needs and applications for RP
metrology that are not included. Thus, it is the purpose of this project to to provide
software programs that fit individual analyses.
- For instance, by using Visual C++ and the ACIS solid modeling kernel, we have created a
program that is able to perform an augmented fit to calculate how a part is scaled
relative to its original design.
- Issues of this matter will continue to be addressed to obtain accurate measurements as
well as accurate analyses.
