Build Procedure
1) Convert CAD files into .stl format. Save file(s)
in the following format: Use 2 CAPITAL character abbreviations (for program, school or
department) + 2 numbers for each month and day + 2 CAPITAL character initials (for first
and last name)
| Example, EE0412JS.stl |
EE = Electrical Engineering |
|
0412 = April the 12th |
|
JS = John Smith |
NOTE: Multiple files must be saved separately. Use the following
convention when saving multiple .stl files: EE0412R1.stl, EE0412R2.stl
EE0412Rn.stl.
2) Transfer the .stl files to rpmi.marc.gatech.edu\INCOMING\Prog_Sch_Dept
(e.g. ME, EE, CIMS/GTRI etc.)
NOTE: Under the Prog_Sch_Dept sub-directory there is a listing of most of
the available campus programs, schools and department that will be using rapid
prototyping. If yours is not listed, please contact Reggie Ponder at 404-894-7688 so that
it can be added to the list.
If you are unable to transfer your files, please drop them off in the RPMI Laboratory,
Room 320, Manufacturing Research Center.
3) Fill in the build information request form. Please
allow at least 24 hours for a response to your request via e-mail.
4) Fill out the User Focus Form. This form is simply a
record keeping tool. |
